Now, devotees to get Siva lingas as prasad in Kedarnath temple

The Siva lingas are being made from the small round stones found along with the banks of the Mandakini and Saraswati river. They are then cleaned with holy water of river ganga and then carved into the linga form.

Rudraprayag: Now Shiva bhakts would be able to take with them small siva lingas as prasad after visiting the famous Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand. Not only that, with development work going on with full swing at the shrine city, the devotees will also be able to see the completed samadhi spot of Aadi Guru Shankaracharya and meditate in the three renovated caves.

Made from Kedarpuri stones, so far more than ten thousand Siva lingas have been made and around one lakh more will be prepared before the opening of the temple next year by Wood Stone Construction Company, which is also doing the reconstruction work at the shrine.

The Siva lingas are being made from the small round stones found along with the banks of the Mandakini and Saraswati river. They are then cleaned with holy water of river ganga and then carved into the linga form.

The trident of Lord Shiva is also engraved in the black and white Siva lingas.

In 2021, once the yatra resumes, these Shiva lingas will be made available to the devotees from the country and abroad at the lowest price by at various stall on the way to the Kedarnath temple.

Manoj Semwal, manager of the Wood Stone Company, says that the siva lingas work is undertaken in line with PM Modi's 'Vocal for Local Campaign' to provide employment to local youth of Kedarnath and also promote spirituality.
