Meet Uttarkhand's master of optical illusion

A 21-year-old man from Dehradun practices an art that creates an attractive optical illusion by juggling the rings clockwise. Vidhaata Singh Jaura, who has been a semi-finalist from the reality show India's got talent has been performing many arts since 2016.

Dehradun: This jack of all trades Man from Dehradun "breathes, eats, drinks--in short, lives optical illusion.

Vidhaata Singh Jaura, 21-year-old man has learnt this art form of optical illusion by juggling the rings just by seeing his father practising it.

He has been performing many attractive arts like Optical Illusion by juggling the rings, Glow Effect, Ignis Pixel Poi, Puppetry and Magic on stages since 2016.

While speaking to ETV Bharat, "I am performing bubble art, Puppetry and creating illusion using rings. I am learning many other and different arts too," Vidhaata said.

He further said, "I got inspiration from my father for teaching me about this world of magic. "

Practicing the art since he was 16

Vidhaata, a resident of Tagore colony of Dehradun, got his inspiration from his father when he was in 10th standard. He says, "I used to play musical instruments with my father and as he wanted me to do something different; that is when I along with my father began our practice in the art of visual illusion. "

Not only in visual illusion, but he also excels in Glow effect, Digital poi, Puppetry and Magic.

Vidhaata’s Puppet characters

Let us introduce to three special characters: Mischievous Mikku, Dancer Baby Bunny and Rockstar Skelly. All three of them are part of Vidhaata’s puppet act. Mischievous Minku is a monkey and is known for his mischiefs. In his puppet show, one of his characters Mischievous Minku dances on the song 'Hawan karenge' from 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' and surprisingly it can talk too.

His other character Dancer Baby Bunny dances and sings the Bollywood songs.

The most different and unique character Rockstar Skelly is the rockstar in real life. During his performances, Skelly’s guitar is the show stopper.

Vidhaata is working on preparing another character, and with all four of them, he will make the world’s first puppet band. His father, Rajendra Jaura, will provide music for this band.

Chota packet, bada dhamaka

Vidhaata who has been a semi-finalist from the reality show India's got talent has done at both national and international shows.

"I have performed in Maharashtra, Chennai and Gujarat. People feel happy when they watch my show. I get appreciation what I do and it makes me one of a kind," he further added. On asking about the son, father of artist said, "I feel proud when he performs on stage, I am also an artist and when my son performs I feel like I am performing.

He is known for doing 15 types of ring illusions, which is rare in India.

Apart from his puppet and optical illusion shows, he can play the drum and is a magician and musician too. He is also well versed in animation. Keeping his multi-talented persona in mind, India Book of Records, awarded him with the title of 'The Versatile Youngster’ award.

On-stage performances

India's Got Talent, India Banega Manch, Big Celebrity Challenge-Telegu, India Ke Mast Kalandar, 2018 are some of the shows he has participated. He has also shared the stage with Indian Ocean band and singers like Guru Randhawa.

Future plans

Vidhaata is preparing an entirely new puppet show for a show in America. He will also be performing at the IIT Madras cultural festival, Saarang 2020.

Dehradun: It is said that talent blossoms on it own, only, hard-work and dedication is needed. Vidhaata Singh Jaura of Dehradun , who is blessed with the art of visual illusion is proving this everyday. Witnessing his impossible acts, leave everyone astonished and shocked. In our special series “Gully talent”, today we are brining the story of this 21 year old Vidhataa. 





21 year old Vidhaata has proved the mettle of his visual illusion on various stages, both domestic and international. For the last couple of years, he has been working on bettering his talent. The credit for nurturing this talent, goes to his father, Rajendra Jaura (titu bhai), who has been supporting him all through his journey. 





His talent doesn’t have an equal



Vidhaata Singh Jaura is a resident of the Tagore colony in Dehradun. Inspired by his father, Vidhaata took a liking for singing and music when he was in class 10th, and he started to try his hand along with his father in the field of music. Vidhaata’s father, Rajesh, has especially trained him in the art of visual illusion. 



Vidhaata has been practicing the art of visual illusion from the age of 16 years, and today, whoever experiences his art, can’t stop to become a fan. Vidhaata holds mastery over, visual illusion, glow effect, digital poi, puppetry and magic. 





These three personalities are special



Let us introduce to three special characters: mischievous Mikku, Dancer Baby Bunny and Rockstar Skelly. Now lets talk about Rockstar Skelly, who has a very different and unique swag. Skelly’s guitar performance is the show stopper. Vidhaata is working on preparing another character, and with all four of them he will make the world’s first puppet band. The music for this band will be given by his father. 



Shared his story with ETV Bharat



Vidhaata does 15 types of ring illusions, 4 types of international level puppet shows, he’s a drummer and a magician too. Other than these, he is also well versed in animation and other tools also. Keeping his multi talented persona in mind, India Book of Records, awarded him with the title of, 'The Versatile Youngster’. Vidhaata has learnt all these skills from his father Rajendra. His entire house is a school for his talent. 



From the age of 16, he has been participating in local, national and international talent shows. India Banega Manch, Big Celebrity Challenge-Telegu, India Ke Mast Kalandar, 2018 are some of the shows he has participated. He has also shared stage with Indian Ocean band and singers like Guru Randhawa. 



Talking candidly to ETV Bharat about his future plans, he says, that he is preparing an entirely new puppet show for a show in America. He is also to perform at the IIT Madras cultural festival, Saarang 2020.



What does his family say



Vidhaata’s family is happy that his talent has been recognised at stages nationally and internationally. But they feel that in his own city and home state, his talent has so far gone unnoticed. His talent is unique but it is disappointing that not many people in Dehradun are aware of his talent.  



His father says that, his fan following is more in southern India than in Uttarakhand. He says that the state Governemnt should also recognise and assist Vidhaata in his journey, as, in future if he achieves greater heights then the name of the state will also be famous. It is essential that the state Governemnt should come ahead and help children like Vidhaata, who are full of unique talent and art.
