Kashipur (Uttarakhand): A case has been registered against a man in Uttarakhand's Kashipur district for allegedly giving his wife tripple talaq after she gave birth to a girl child.
In her complaint to police, the victim alleged that her husband married another woman, as she was unable to deliver a baby boy and divorced her after she refused to stay with the woman.
The couple was married 9 years ago and have 4 daughters.
In addition to this, victim also claimed that her in-laws harassed her for giving birth to four girls and often, humiliated her over dowry.
Narrating her ordeal to police, she said, "My husband secretly married a woman named Shahgufta one year ago and I got to know about the same recently. When I protested against his second marriage, he used to beat me. Later, he shifted both of us into a rented house and pressurized us to stay together. Both of us protested, after which he pronounced talaq to me on June 17 in presence of his relatives."
