Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, while speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat on Thursday, said that various types of 'asanas' can cure serious ailments.

Haridwar: Ahead of the International Yoga Day on June 21, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Thursday talked about the Asanas that can cure serious diseases.

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had tweeted two yoga videos that showed a detailed procedure of nine asanas.

In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Swami Ramdev talked about how yoga could be beneficial in day to day life.

Talking about the nine asanas that PM Modi uploaded on his Twitter account, Ramdev said that asanas like Vajrasana, Bhadrasana, Pad Shasta, Ardha Chakrasan etc help in making the body healthy and many kinds of serious diseases in the body are cured.

Ramdev says that for diabetic patients, Asanas like Anulom Vilom and Kapalabhati are very useful.

"You can perform these Asanas by sitting on the ground or on the chair," he said.

The Yoga Guru also said that the people suffering from obesity can perform 5 to 6 'Prayanam' daily.

"Half of the world's population is suffering from obesity. People adopt different kinds of measures to cure it. People should do 5 to 6 'Prayanam' on a daily basis and they will feel the difference," he said.
