Ex-CM Rawat says virus has right to live

The comment by former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat came during a chat with journalists in Dehradun.

Dehradun: Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said the "Coronavirus also has the right to live because it is also a creature like us". Rawat's comment came during a conversation with journalists in Dehradun.

He said, "Coronavirus is also a creature like us. Just like we want to live, similarly this virus also wants to live. Therefore, this virus is changing its form. In such a situation, this virus also has every right to live".

This is not the first time, the BJP leader has made such statements. Earlier, he said, "Cow is the only organism that takes oxygen and releases oxygen. He also said that by regularly patting a cow, respiratory diseases can be cured.

Earlier, another politician, Tirath Singh Rawat, the Chief Minister of the state, caused a stir with his statement on women in ripped jeans. He also said that India was under American control for 200 years.
