Dehradun: The suspension bridge in Dharchula town of Uttarakhand, connecting India and Nepal, was opened for 30 minutes on Saturday on the pretext of emergency service.
Sources said that the bridge was opened to repatriate citizens from both the countries following the consent of two respective administrations.
Reportedly, India opened the bridge for Nepal resident and a retired soldier in Indian Army. A total of 27 people moved from one country to another; a few stranded students left for their home in Nepal.

The international borders were closed soon after the corona-induced lockdown was imposed. Meanwhile, the coronavirus cases in India breached one million mark on Saturday. On the other hand, 26,816 casualties have been reported so far.
