Chinese troops create tension on Lipulekh border, asking India to remove tin sheds

The Chinese troops in Pithoragarh's Lipulekh are trying to put pressure on India to remove the tin sheds made for the soldiers and Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims within 200 metres on the Indian border. The patrolling has been increased on the border in view of the tension created by China.

Pithoragarh: The Chinese troops on Lipulekh border here have been warning India for the past few days to remove the tin sheds by raising a banner.

Sources said that for the past few days, the Chinese troops are raising flags towards India asking to remove the rest houses made for the soldiers and Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims within 200 metres on the Indian border.

On the banners, the Chinese troops described the area as disputed over which the tin sheds are built. According to reports, they have done this three times before.

China is trying to put pressure on India across the border after the linking of the Lipulekh Pass in Pithoragarh with the China border. The Dragons also raised objections over the temporary constructions made by India in Lipulekh.

The patrolling has been increased on the border in view of the tension created by China.

Amid the coronavirus crisis, the India-China border trade, which used to take place every year from June 1 through Lipulekh Pass in Pithoragarh has been suspended for the present year due to COVID-19.

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has also been suspended in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
