Almora (Uttarakhand): After a video clip of Uttar Pradesh BJP MP Dharmendra Kashyap allegedly hurling abuses at the Jageshwar temple authorities in Uttarakhand went viral, police have booked him for violating Covid SOPs and misbehaving with the temple staff. The FIR was registered under IPC Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) at the Kotuli revenue outpost on the complaint of the temple manager Bhagwan Bhatt.
Bhanoli SDM Monika Singh said that on Sunday, on the complaint filed by Bhatt, an FIR was registered against the BJP MP from Aonla in Uttar Pradesh.

On July 31, Kashyap reached Jageshwar temple in Almora district and allegedly tried to enter the temple premises after the scheduled hours. When the manager of the temple tried to stop him, he allegedly misbehaved with the staff and hurled abuses at them. Several politicians and locals registered their protest against Kashyap and demanded an apology from him. Former Speaker and Jageshwar MLA Govind Singh Kunjwal sat on a 24-hour fast while Congress workers burnt the effigy of the parliamentarian.
