Rishikesh (Uttarakhand): The resort owned by the accused in the Ankita Bhandari murder case was demolished following the order of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Meanwhile, the missing body of Ankita was found on Saturday. Police arrested the three accused, including Pulkit Arya, the owner of the resort.

Pulkit Arya, who owns the Vanatara resort in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district and two of his employees were arrested on Friday, for killing Ankita Bhandari (19), who had worked as a receptionist there, police said.
Arya, along with the resort's manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta, confessed to having killed the missing girl and threw her body into the Cheela Canal, said Pauri Additional Superintendent of Police Shekhar Chandra Suyal. Initially, they tried to mislead the police, but when interrogated sternly they confessed to the crime, the ASP said.

The case was cracked within 24 hours of being transferred from the revenue police to regular police. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) which was tasked to handle the case produced the arrested suspects before a Kotdwar court which remanded them to a 14-day judicial custody.
Pulkit Arya is the son of Vinod Arya, a BJP leader from Haridwar, and a former chairman of Uttarakhand Mati Kala Board. Vinod had enjoyed state cabinet minister's rank and its attached facilities. However, at present, the BJP leader was not holding any government post.
