Anant Ambani a member of Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee! Here's why

Anant Ambani was appointed a member of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee as the Ambanis are regular visitors of the temple. Every year, they help the temple administration in managing the required resources and infrastructure. They have also built a dharamshala (inn) and Jio restaurant in the state.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand government appointed industrialist Mukesh Ambani's son, Anant Ambani, as a member of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee on Friday.

Uttarakhand is famous worldwide for its Char Dham pilgrimage. Among the Char Dhams, Badrinath and Kedarnath temples is visited by crores of tourists annually. The temple committee, currently headed by Mohan Prasad Thapliyal, looks after the temples' management and functioning.

Ambani junior was apppointed as one of its members as the Ambanis are regular visitors of the temple. They visit the holy shrines every time something important comes up in the family. Last year, they offered prayers at the temples before the wedding of Mukesh Ambani's daughter Isha Ambani.

Veteran journalist Bhagirath Sharma told that Anant Ambani had been chosen as a committee member as would help in funding the temple expenses. Every year, the Ambanis help the temple administration in managing the required resources and infrastructure.

They have also built a dharamshala (inn) and Jio restuarant in the state. Besides, the family has also funded religious-cultural sections of libraries of three universities. The temple committee always approaches the Ambanis whenever it needs any financial aid for the temple.

Not the first instance

This is not for the first time that an industrialist has been made a part of the temple committee. In 1996, Jaypee group's chairperson Jaiprakash Gaur was chosen as the member of the committee, informed BD Singh, CEO of the committee.
