In conversation with ETV Bharat, Shaurya said that he was working as a BJP worker in the state and the party would decide on the candidature of its members. He went on to state that he would always work as a true worker of the party and would campaign for the party's candidates in all the five seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the state.

Speaking on the issue of development in the state, Shaurya said that there was still a lot to be done. He also stressed on the need to develop a new economic model for Uttarakhand.

"The next 25 years are very important for the country's economy. History will judge India based on the economic development it achieves during this tenure. The young population in the state need employment and the state has to keep up with the pace of India's growth trajectory," he added.

Speaking on the need for a second term for the ruling BJP, Shaurya said, "The country needs a strong, vibrant and progressive government and BJP can deliver it under the leadership of Narendra Modi. The opposition has failed to project an alternate ideology in the run-up to Lok Sabha elections."
