Youth killed after forced to drink disinfectant by miscreants in UP

A youth and four others were arrested by Bhot police in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district for killing a youth by forcing him to drink the disinfectant.

Rampur (Uttar Pradesh): A youth and four others were arrested by Bhot police in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district for killing a youth by forcing him to drink the disinfectant, police said on Sunday.

The deceased person has been identified as Kumar Pal of the same district. The accused person's identity is yet to be ascertained.

According to police, Kumar had gone to Motipura village to spray the disinfectant in order to combat the spread of coronavirus.

While spraying the disinfectant, Kumar accidentally sprayed it on the foot of a person. Following this, an argument broke out between the duo. The accused person and his aides brutally thrashed Kumar at the spot, police sources said.

It took an ugly turn when in a fit of rage the accused person and his aides allegedly inserted the pipe of the sanitizing machine in Kumar’s mouth and forced him to drink the disinfectant, police sources added.

As a result, Kumar was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Rampur. Later, he was shifted to TMU Medical College in Moradabad as his health condition deteriorated and he died while undergoing treatment, the police official said.

On being informed, police reached the hospital and launched a probe into the matter. The body was seized and sent to a hospital for post-mortem, the police official added.

A case has been registered against the accused person and his aides under Sections 147, 323 and 304 of the Sections of IPC, police official further added.
