Unnao: A young man, who was found injured in Piper Khera village of the district on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, has died, police said.
The police said that a call was received from the village informing that there was a thief and as the police personnel reached there they found a young man, later identified as Vijay, critically injured, who was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died during the treatment.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Circle Officer, Unnao City, Gaurav Tripathi said that it has been found out that Vijay was in a relationship with a girl of his locality for the past four years and the incident could be related to the love affair.
He said further investigation is on and there has been no arrest in the matter as yet.
However, refuting the police version of the chain of events on the fateful night, deceased's brother said that police took Vijay, who had gone out to work in the fields, forcibly around 3 o'clock without telling anything to the family.
"We saw police taking him in a van. They looked at us as we watched them taking him away forcibly. They did not tell anything to the family on why and where they were taking him," he said.
Later, we received the news of his death in the hospital. He also confirmed that his brother had a love affair.
