After the death of her husband Vinod in 2020 owing to serious illness, Guddi started working in a factory for Rs 4,000 per month to feed her family. Her son Ajay also started working as a labourer to support the family. Due to Covid induced lockdown factories got closed and the mother and son faced unemployment. Sooner they started relying on food packets provided by their neighbours which were not sufficient for them.
Gradually all the family members of the family started falling prey to starvation and were living only on water.
