Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh): A young woman was gang-raped by her husband and his friends for not bringing additional dowry. The shocking incident came to light from Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj. The woman was repeatedly raped by his husband's friends after being taken hostage for over 15 days. The husband further pronounced triple talaq to the wife. On Thursday, the victim along with her family members reached the SP office and pleaded for justice. The SP has ordered an investigation into the matter.

It is being reported that the woman, a resident of a village in the Gursahaiganj Kotwali area married Nazim, a resident of the same area. However, after the marriage, Nazim started demanding additional dowry. When the demand was not met, Nazim along with his four friends - Zulfikar, Jabbar, Sajim, Amir - gang-raped the woman for 15-days.

The woman somehow managed to escape the house of her husband and narrated the ordeal to her family. However, when the victim along with her family reached the Gursahaiganj police station, the police personnel ignored her case. Finally, the woman and her family members reached the SP office and handed over a written complaint to the SP. Meanwhile, the police have started the investigation.
