Varanasi: During coronavirus tests of security personnel, a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to his parliamentary constituency on the occasion of Dev Deepawali in Varanasi, a women police constable has tested positive for COVID-19.
There has been a round-the-clock arrangement by the administration regarding the security of prime minister Modi.
Six-thousand security personnel engaged in the protection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were tested. While the report of the other security personnel was found negative.
The woman constable is undergoing treatment and also under quarantine at the ESIC Hospital.
In view of the public gathering to be held in Khajuri village with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, security has been tightened within one kilometre from the stage.
The arrival of outsiders on the stage and site has been completely banned. No one nearby is allowed to go inside. Central Reserve Security Force and heavy police force have been deployed at the venue. Intelligence department including SPG is already on alert.
