Shamli (Uttar Pradesh): A young woman was allegedly raped by three men in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district on Sunday.
According to the victim's family, the woman had gone to a field under Jhinjhana police station limits for some work on Sunday, when three youth allegedly gang-raped her.
The three accused physically assaulted the woman before fleeing from the spot, the victim's family said.
The victim, in an injured state, reached home and narrated her ordeal to her mother, following which her family registered a complaint with the local police.
Based on the complaint of the victim's family, the police registered a case against the three accused.
Meanwhile, two of the accused have already been taken into custody for questioning, Shamli Superintendent of Police Nityanand Rai informed.

The victim was sent for a medical check-up, the SP added.
According to reports, the victim and the accused side had an old feud over land, and it is suspected that the alleged rape might have been because of the long-standing feud.
