Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): After the encounter of history-sheeter Vikas Dubey, who was facing around 60 criminal cases against him, Police along with RAF personnel reached Bikru village to recover the weapons which were looted by the criminals on the intervening night of July 2 and 3 after killing eight policemen.
The looted weapons include an INSAS rifle and an AK-47.
Police personnel were seen giving warning to the villagers to hand-over the weapons within 24 hours otherwise strict actions will be taken against them.
They also held a meeting with villagers chaired by Circle Officer Tripuri Pandey to gain confidence among people.
Heavy police force along with RAF personnel have been deployed in the area to restore normalcy.
The weapons were looted from the police team which was approaching to arrest Vikas Dubey in Bikru village under Chaubeypur police station.

As the police team was about to reach the hideout of the dreaded criminal, a hail of bullets was showered on them from a building rooftop, leaving Deputy SP Devendra Mishra, three sub-inspectors and four constables dead. Seven others, including a civilian, were injured in the attack.
On Friday, a vehicle of Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) which was bringing back Dubey on a transit remand from Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain to Kanpur overturned after a herd of cattle suddenly appeared before it.
Vikas, along with two other police personnel in the vehicle, were injured in the mishap.
As soon as he was taken out of the vehicle, he snatched a rifle from the STF team and tried to escape while firing at the police. He sustained three bulletin injuries on chest and one on his arm in the retaliatory firing.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
He was cremated at Bhairav Ghat cremation ground in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur.
