Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): Policemen working round the clock in the battle against the deadly coronavirus, also need to keep themselves physically and mentally fit to serve the people better.
Besides, the Railway Police are also working in close cooperation with the civil administration in the evacuation of people stranded on different railway stations during the lockdown.

To keep the men in uniform physically and mentally fit in this stressful time, the Government Railway Police (GRP) men have started to practice yoga and physical exercise every day in the morning for more than an hour. Yoga and physical exercises are taking place in the cantonment campus.
These men in uniform also need to keep themselves safe while performing their duty. Some unique and special efforts are being made in Varanasi to make the policemen mentally strong.
One can see a different role of the policemen in the campus of the cantonment railway station every morning. They gather together and carry out yoga and physical exercise maintaining social distancing.
Amid the lockdown when all the train services have been suspended, there are hundreds of people stranded on different railway stations. These stranded people need to be assisted on several counts. The GRP, in cooperation with the local administration, is helping the stranded people.
That is why it is necessary to keep the GRP personnel physically and mentally fit.

To achieve this, the local officer has been organising yoga and physical fitness exercise every morning for the police and GRP jawans.
The rigorous physical exercise and yoga help in increasing the immunity of the policemen.
