Gonda: Three Dalit sisters were allegedly attacked with acid by an unidentified person in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district on Tuesday morning.
Khushboo (17) Mahima (12) and Sonam (8) were sleeping on the first floor of their house in Pakka village under Paraspur police station limits.
The incident took place when unknown attackers threw acid on them through the window and fled the spot.
The elder sister has sustained grievous injuries on the face while the two younger sisters have suffered minor burns due to splashes of acid.

On being informed, police reached the spot and all three injured were rushed to the district hospital.
"They are currently under treatment and it's an acid attack case," SO Sudhir Singh said.
The girls' father Ram Avatar maintained that he had enmity with no one and was clueless about the motive behind the crime.
Gonda Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that police was questioning the girls and police teams set up to track down the culprit.
"The reason behind the incident is yet to be known. No arrest has been made so far. The three sisters have been attacked by an inflammable chemical. Doctors are investigating what chemical was used. The girls are stable. Forensic team, dog squad and police team are on the spot and further probe into the matter is underway," Shailesh Kumar Pandey said.
