Vrindavan: Following the rape and murder of an eight-year-old from Uttar Pradesh's Mathura the family of the victim has now sat on a dharna demanding a fair and speedy investigation by the city police.
They have also expressed displeasure on the way the police handled the case and alleged that the victim's body was exhumed forcefully.
Family members have threatened to increase the protests if the police do not take them seriously and deliver justice.

On November 25, the girl went missing from a nearby forest where she had gone with a neighbourhood lady to collect firewood.
The following day her dead body was found and the tests revealed she was raped.
The police have arrested Mahesh, the accused in the case and sent evidence for tests to a forensic lab.
