Uttar Pradesh: One more cop found corona positive in Bahraich

A police personnel Ajay Kumar was found COVID-19 positive in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district on Tuesday. Ajay helped the migrants who met with the accident on 15th May after hitting an electric pole on the Lucknow-Bahraich highway and later found corona positive.

Bahraich (UP): One more police personnel was found COVID-19 positive in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

The police personnel Ajay Kumar has no travel history but he helped the migrants who met with the accident on 15th May after hitting an electric pole on the Lucknow-Bahraich highway, police said.

Seven of the 31 injured migrants tested corona positive, doctors informed.

The two doctors and six health workers who came in contact with COVID-19 workers were also quarantined.

Ajay Kumar posted in Fakharpur police station is one of them who took the workers to the hospital and has now turned COVID positive.

Police Superintendent Dr Vipin Kumar Mishra said, "The other 18 policemen of Thana Fakharpur station who helped the migrants were quarantined after their reports came negative."

Their samples were sent for testing in which the report of Ajay Kumar came positive, he added.

Currently, the police personnel Ajay Kumar is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
