Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh): A mob lynching incident has come to light from Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. A man identified as Wasit Ali was brutally beaten by a mob on suspicion of theft.
According to the information, Wasit who was drunk was passing through the locality when a security guard present there caught him as a thief and raised the alarm. Hearing the noise, the crowd started gathering there in no time and started beating Wasit, Later, they tied him to a nearby tree.
Soon after getting the information police rushed to the spot of the incident and stopped the locals from beating Wasit. The victim was admitted to the hospital where he died the following morning.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) told, “There were no bruises on Wasit’s body, which is why no one, even his family, took him to the hospital for immediate treatment. A post-mortem will be done by a panel of doctors to ascertain the cause of death.”
Police are investigating the case, and the soon the accused will be arrested, he added.
