Uttar Pradesh BJP MP gets extortion call for Rs 10 lakh

An FIR was registered after an unknown person called Bhadohi MP Ramesh Chand Bind, and threatened to kill him and his son if the Parliamentarian did not pay a sum of Rs 10 lakh.

Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh): BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi, Ramesh Chand Bind on Saturday filed a police complaint after he received an extortion call for Rs 10 lakh.

The Parliamentarian, a resident of Sector-K in Aashiyana area, said he received a phone call from an unknown person on November 5.

The caller threatened him and demanded a sum of Rs 10 lakh, Bind said.

Bind said that the caller threatened to kill him and his son if the sum was not paid, following which he cut the call.

Based on Bind's complaint, the Aashiyana police filed an FIR on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the police are currently trying to track the caller through the phone number.
