Lucknow: An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker returning home after complaining of sexual harassment to Badaun police was attacked with acid on Wednesday evening.
The woman was romantically involved with a man from her village Mujaria and the couple got married. But, since both of them belonged to different castes, the man refused to stay with her after some time.
It is then the victim decided to lodge a police complain alleging the man had sexually exploited and was threatening her. However, when no action was taken, she forwarded her complaint to the Superintendents of Police (SSP).
When she was returning, someone from Bhatpura village attacked her with acid and flee from the spot.

Hearing the woman's scream, a crowd gathered and the villagers informed the police and an ambulance was called.
The woman is being treated at a government hospital in the district.
