Gopiganj: A woman from Gopiganj city of Uttar Pradesh has been sitting on a hunger strike for the last three days, to protest against delay in finding her abducted daughter and arrest of the accused.
As per reports, the girl studying in class 9, who left from home to visit a nearby grocery store is missing since March 14.
The woman, who had registered a case of abduction in Gopiganj police station, claims that despite tracing the location of minor girl, the police is unable to find her.
" It's been one and a half month since I've seen my daughter. Each day, I wait for her return. If something happens to my daughter then the police will be responsible," said the teary-eyed mother.
In the last 45 days, the woman has visited the police station several times with the hope that she might get some information of her daughter or any update regarding the case.
Police inaction in finding the girl whose location has been traced in Surat, forced the distressed mother to go on a hunger strike.
"I sat on a hunger strike so that it instills fear among the policemen and it might step up the investigation process. But it seems that it is also not solving any purpose," said the mother of the girl.
The mother said that she will continue with the hunger strike until she sees her daughter.
