Ayodhya (UP): A special court here on Friday sentenced to life two accused in the November 2007 Uttar Pradesh serial blasts case. The third accused was acquitted citing lack of evidence.
According to reports, the court sentenced to life Tariq Qasmi and Mohammad Akhtar, and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on them. The third accused in the case, Sajjad ur Rahman, was let off due to lack of evidence.
On November 23, 2007, six serial blasts had rocked the Lucknow, Varanasi, and Faizabad courts in a span of twenty-five minutes.
