Ghaziabad: Three women and two men have been arrested in the child trafficking case in Ghaziabad, adjacent to the national capital Delhi on Wednesday. A one and a half-year-old child was recovered from the accused. The child was kidnapped in the year 2020 from the Sahibabad area. The child was sold to a couple who wanted a son for Rs 5 lakh. The mastermind of this racket, Duryodhana was earlier arrested by the Aligarh Police.
A year and a half ago, the child was kidnapped by the prime accused Duryodhana from the Arthla area of Sahibabad, located under Ghaziabad district. Duryodhana's two female accomplices - Sangeeta and Sonia, were also arrested by the police on Wednesday along with three other accused.

The kidnapped child was sold to Rakesh, a resident of Gautam Budh Nagar for Rs 5 lakhs. Sonia and Sangeeta both received Rs 5,000 from this deal. Apart from Sonia, Sangeeta, the police have also arrested Rakesh and his daughter Kavita and son-in-law Rajneesh in this case. The child has been safely returned to its real parents.

Duryodhana, the main accused in the case, was earlier arrested by Aligarh Police, due to which a big racket of child trafficking was busted. When the police interrogated Duryodhana, they got information about the kidnapped child from the Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad. Following a police investigation, all the accused have been arrested from Gautam Budh Nagar. The police will continue to investigate the case.
