Lucknow: Security agencies have alerted the Uttar Pradesh Police against Popular Front of India (PFI), an alleged radical group, amid reports that it may try to create problems in the state.
According to sources, 12 PFI members, believed to have been trained in Iraq, may try to infiltrate in UP and create problems.
Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the UP police is already probing the role of its members in various incidents, including creating communal tension following the Hathras gangrape case.
Acting on the security inputs, the police have increased vigil at various places in the state.
Four members of the PFI were recently arrested by the UP police.
