Speaking to ETV Bharat, Sumaiya Rana said that Prime Minister had asked the citizens to beat the utensils in order to curb the spread of coronavirus within 21 days.

She further asserted the cases of the deadly virus has been rapidly increasing even after six months of beating the utensils.

"I asked the state chief minister and Prime Minister about their promise of arresting the spread of COVID-19 in 21 days. Is this my fault? During the crucial phase of dealing with the virus, our PM and CM were busy in beating the utensils. Now, the poor section of the society has been beating the same utensils for job and food. It is the right of every citizen to demonstrate peacefully against any government", said Sumaiya Rana.

The two sisters had also played a key role in the anti-CAA protests held in the state capital in December-January.

Cases against them were registered on charges of public obstruction, making objectionable comments on social media, violating Section 144 and disturbing peace.
