UP: Mid-day meal served on leaves to kids from 'different community'

In yet another instance of discrimination, a video went viral where students are seen being served mid-day meal on a leaf as they belong to a different community. An investigation into the matter was ordered by District Collector Bhavani Singh Khangaraut.

Ballia: A discriminatory video went viral where three students can be seen eating their mid-day meal from a banana leaf whereas other students are served food in steel plates.

According to the sources, the video is 25 days old and the three students belong to a 'different community'.

"This is a serious issue and if the reason behind the discrimination was based on a community then strict action will be taken against the culprits," Khangaraut said.

Article 14 of the Indian constitution protects citizens from any form of inequality but such instances raise serious questions on its implementation by the government.
