Gonda: A video has surfaced online where a man from Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district can be seen carrying his grandfather on a 'charpai' (cot) through agricultural fields filled with water.

Due to lack of road connectivity, Govind Dhar Dubey who works in the Army and has come to his village for holidays, can be seen walking across the fields along with another villager.

Anoop Dhar Dubey, a resident of Udwat Nagar village of Belsar block, complained of ill health following which the two carried him on a cot for around 1.5 kilometres, crossed the water filled fields and later moved him to the hospital.

After getting treatment at Lucknow's Command hospital, the two again carried the elderly man on cot while coming back to their home.

"There is no road connectivity up to 2 km from our house. Moreover, the path leading to the main road always gets inundated whenever it rains," said Govind.

"We made the video and posted it on social media so that the administration pays attention to our problems," he added.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Chief Development Officer Gonda Shashank Tripathi said, "We will look into the matter. We will speak to the concerned BDO and Gram Panchayat officials so that such kind of problems do not arise in future."
