Agra: A lawyer was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified bike-borne miscreants at Shaheed Nagar area under Tajnagari police limits in Uttar Pradesh's Agra on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Harish Pachauri, a lawyer of the same locality.
According to sources, the incident took this morning when Pachauri was on his way to somewhere. Suddenly two bike-borne miscreants chased Pachauri, shot three-four times in his body and fled from the place.
Immediately, locals rushed Pachauri to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
On receiving the information, the Agra police reached the spot along with the scene of the crime team and collected the evidence from there.
A probe will look into all the possibilities behind the murder, police said, adding that as money and other valuables were not taken by the miscreants, robbery could not be the motive.
It is suspected that the murder was a result of a personal rivalry, police said. Meanwhile, police were scanning CCTV footage obtained from the area to identify the accused.
