UP: Food stalls at Tundla junction caught selling rotten food

Food stalls at UP's Tundla railway station were found selling stale food prepared with rotten ingredients to the passengers. Commuters alleged that the railway officials despite knowing that the IRCTC shops prepare and sell food in unsanitary condition do not take an action against it.

Firozabad: In a shocking incident, IRCTC food stalls at Uttar Pradesh's Tundla railway station on Wednesday were found selling food prepared from rotten potatoes to the commuters.

According to sources, the shops at the railway station use rotten potatoes to prepare samosa and curry which are unfit for consumption.

The commuters said that the price of bottled water is also more than the MRP in these shops. The bottled water worth Rs 15 are being sold at Rs 20- 25 here.

Samarth Gupta, Divisional traffic manager of Tundla junction, said, "Required action will be taken in the matter after conducting an investigation."

Tundla railway station is the largest junction in West Uttar Pradesh.
