Uttar Pradesh: Five people were injured in an accident at the Hindustan Petroleum gas plant in Unnao on Thursday.
The Dahi Chowki Industrial area of Unnao was shock-stricken after a gas tanker suddenly caught fire due to leakage.
The fire soon went up so huge that it became uncontrollable.
Upon getting information, the administration immediately evacuated the whole gas plant.
The fire brigade was called who later extinguished the fire.
About half-a-dozen people were injured in the accident who have been admitted to the district hospital.
The condition of one of them is very critical and he has been referred to Kanpur for further treatment.
One of the injured named Subhash said, "When the gas started leaking from one of the tankers, the workers tried to stop it. Meanwhile, the tanker caught fire because of a spark of fire from somewhere."
Another worker informed that "A leakage in the gas tank caused the fire, four to five workers were injured in the accident."
Meanwhile, district hospital's EMO Sobhit Agnihotri said, "Five injured gas plant workers were admitted here one of whom was severely injured and has been referred to Kanpur for further treatment."
