Two criminals carrying reward money held in Moradabad

Moradabad police on Sunday nabbed two wanted criminals carrying a price of Rs. 50,000 on their heads. Both were involved in cow smuggling and slaughter cases.

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh): Two wanted criminals carrying a price of Rs. 50,000 on their heads were arrested by the UP Police late last night, after an exchange of gunfire near Kundarki police station area here.

As per reports, police got a tip-off about the criminal named Islam following which a strategy was chalked out to catch him.

When they reached Chutpur area near here, the police asked them to surrender. Despite police warning, they fired at the police and tried to flee from the spot. In retaliation, police shot at the leg of Islam and another criminal named Babu.

Babu escaped the bullet but was arrested by the police.

Later, Islam was taken to a government hospital where he was treated for the gunshot wound. His condition is said to be stable.

Police informed ETV Bharat that they were also involved in several cow-smuggling and slaughter cases in the past.

Police have also seized country-made pistols, bullets and knives from the wanted criminals.
