3 migrants killed, 4 injured in UP road accident

Three migrants hailing from Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh were killed and four others injured at Lucknow-Ayodhya highway on Friday morning. These migrants workers were working in a saree factory in Surat and were returning to their home on foot.

Barabanki: Three among seven migrant workers lost their lives after a truck hit them at Lucknow-Ayodhya highway on the wee hours of Friday.

As per the reports, one person admitted to a city hospital received multiple fractures and has been struggling with internal bleeding.

According to a relative of a migrant worker, all of them were working in a saree factory in Gujarat's Surat district.

On May 13, they had informed the family members about their return journey on foot.

"All the migrant workers are hailing from Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. Due to lockdown, they were stranded at the factory in Surat. With no means to reach home, they had started their journey on Wednesday morning. When they reached Kanpur, an anonymous vehicle drop them to Barabanki on Friday morning. They are waiting for a vehicle besides the road and suddenly a truck crushed all of them. Mohan, Sishupal and Jitendra died on the spot while four others received severe injuries."

Meanwhile, police reached the spot and sent the dead bodies for an autopsy after which the bodies were supposed to send to their respective homes.
