UP: Third phase polls for 10 LS seats to start on April 23

An intense fight is expected between all the political parties in the 10 Lok Sabha seats of the third phase in Uttar Pradesh. The seats are in Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Budaun, Aonla, Bareilly and Pilibhit.

Third phase elections for the 10 Lok Sabha seats in UP to start on April 23

Lucknow:Tough fight is expected between all the political parties in the ten Lok Sabha seats of the third phase in Uttar Pradesh.

The seats are in Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Budaun, Aonla, Bareilly and Pilibhit.

Notifications were issued on March 28, nominations will be filed till April 4 and votings will be held on April 23.

In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won 7 of these seats and SP had occupied 3 seats. Congress in 2009 elections had won 4 of these ten seats and is expecting to win at least 6 seats.

Out of 3 seats, Mulayam Singh Yadav had won one from the Mainpuri constituency.

Dharmendra Yadav won from Budaun and Akshay Yadav won from Firozabad.

In the previous elections, SP fought alone but this time there is BSP-SP alliance.

Akshay Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav will be fighting for the Firozabad seat this time.

After seperating from the SP, he created a new party named Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party.

In Rampur, BJP has fielded actress Jaya Prada against SP leader Azam Khan.

BJP had fielded Naipal Singh who had won in Rampur in 2014.

In the last Lok Sabha elections, Maneka Gandhi won the elections from Pilibhit, whereas this time her son Varun Gandhi will contest from the BJP ticket and Maneka Gandhi will contest from Varun Gandhi's Sultanpur constituency.

Observing the current election situation in UP, Senior journalist PN Dwivedi commented that this phase will not be easy for any party.

BSP-SP alliance will give a tough fight to BJP and Shivpal Yadav's newly formed party will challenge SP.

There are a total of 1,76,00,000 voters; out of which 95,50,000 are female voters; 80,90,000 are male voters; 983 are third gender voters; 2,98,00,619 are 18-19 year old voters and 2,99,00,871 are 80 year old voters.

There are a total 12,128 polling stations and 20,116 polling booths in these ten constituencies.

Mainpuri constituency

In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Mulayam Singh Yadav won the elections.

BJP's Shatrughan Singh Chauhan received 2,31,252 votes, while Dr. Sanghmitra Maurya of BSP came third.

Congress did not bring any candidate in this constituency.

In the five assembly seats of Mainpuri parliamentary seat, SP won four seats in 2017 and the BJP won one seat.

Etahconstituency

Rajveer Singh (Raju Bhaiya) won this seat in 2014 elections while SP came second and BSP secured the third position.

In 2017 assembly elections, all 5 legislative assembly seats were won by BJP.

Budaunconstituency

SP candidate Dharmendra Yadav won the 2014 general elections and received 4,98,378 votes, while BJP came second and BSP secured the third position.

In the assembly seats, BJP won four seats while SP won one seat out of 5 seats.

Firozabad constituency

This seat was won by SP's Akshay Yadav who received 5,34,583 votes in 2014 elections, while BJP came second and BSP secured the third position.

In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP won four seats out of five seats, while SP won the Sirsaganj seat.

Aonla constituency

BJP's Dharmendra Kumar won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from this constituency.

He got a total of 4,09,907 votes.

SP secured the second position and BSP came third.

In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP won all the five assembly seats.

Pilibhit constituency

BJP's Maneka Sanjay Gandhi got 5,46,934 votes and won the last elections, while SP secured the second position and BSP came third.

In the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP won all five assembly seats in the Pilibhit constituency.

Moradabad constituency

BJP's Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar Singh won the last general elections from this seat, followed by SP and BSP.

In the assembly elections of 2017, BJP won three seats and the other two seats were won by SP.

Rampur constituency

In the last general elections, BJP's Dr Naipal Singh won this seat followed by SP and Congress.

He received 3,58,616 votes.

BJP won two seats and SP won three seats in the 2017 assembly elections.

Sambhal constituency

In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Satyapal Singh Saini was victorious in this parliamentary constituency.

He received3,60,000votes.

SP came second and BSP conquered the third seat.

In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP won just one seat while the other four seats were won by SP.

Bareilly constituency

In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Santosh Kumar Gangwar won this seat and he received 5,18,258 votes.

SP secured the second place and BSP came third.

In 2017 assembly elections, BJP won all the Bareilly parliamentary seats.
