Tenant beaten up and tied to a tree by landlord in UP

A tenant was beaten up, forcibly pushed out of the house along with her children and tied to a tree by her landlord Bhagirath Prajapati in Hamirpur district in Uttar Pradesh.UP police have registered a case against the landlord over the attack.

Hamirpur: In a brutal incident, a woman was tied to a tree and beaten up by her landlord Bhagirath Prajapati, for not paying house rent in Hamirpur district. As per information, the police immediately reached the spot and saved the woman.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Santosh Kumar Singh said that case was registered against the landlord over attack and vandalism. The woman labourer could not find work as COVID-19 pandemic led to a standstill of jobs and she failed to pay rent for several months.

Infuriated landlord attacked her, forcibly pushed her out of the house along with her children, threw her belongings and tied her. The tenant is a widow.
