Varanasi: In an unusual method to raise their demand of forming a turmeric board for farmers, 40 farmers of Nizamabad district of Telangana are likely to file their nomination against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi on Monday.
Many more farmers are also in the spree to contest against PM Modi. The farmers said that they were here to demand the formation of turmeric board so that they get the appropriate price for their harvest.

One of the farmers said, "40 farmers who will file nominations here. Also, sixty more farmers are coming from Tamil Nadu. The formation of haldi (turmeric) board is very important for us. We are just filling the nomination and not going to campaign against PM Modi. We are here to request Prime Minister to please make a haldi board for us."
Major highlights of their demands:
- Farmers are fighting for turmeric board since 2006.
- Earlier, they have protested at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. No one is hearing their agrarian issue, claimed the farmers.
- They are not going to campaign against PM Modi in the ongoing general elections.
- They are filling nominations to raise their demands in front of PM Modi.
- They demanded an appropriate price for turmeric and formation of the concerned board.
