Varanasi: Police are investigating eight bank accounts of Bhojpuri singer Samar Singh and his brother Sanjay Singh, who were arrested in connection with the death of 25-year old actress Akanksha Dubey. This apart, two joint bank accounts of the actress and the singer are also being probed by the police.
Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey had died by suicide on March 26. Her body was found inside her hotel room in Varanasi, where she was shooting for her upcoming film, 'Laik Hoon Main Nalaik Nahi' but there was no suicide note. Akanksha's mother had accused Samar and Sanjay Singh of her daughter's murder and alleged that they had threatened to kill Akanksha. Both were arrested for Abetment to Suicide in the case.
During Samar Singh's interrogation, he shared his bank account details with the police. Sources said he was asked around 55 questions, most of which were related to his relationship with Akanksha and Samar answered all the questions. His brother Sanjay is lodged in Varanasi District Jail and is also being interrogated by the police.
Responding to the questions, Samar informed about his meetings with Akanksha and said that they were living together. He shared details about his professional and family lives as well as spoke about his relationship with Akanksha. Sources said Samar has been repeatedly saying that he is innocent and that he was being unnecessarily asked the same question repeatedly in different ways.

Police said all the 10 bank accounts of Samar, Sanjay and Akanksha would be scrutinised closely on Monday. Earlier, Akanksha's mother said she had once mentioned to Samar that her daughter had around Rs five crore. All allegations would be investigated, said police. Samar's interrogation will continue till April 17. Meanwhile, Akanksha's friend Anuradha, two Bhojpuri film directors and a producer have also been summoned for questioning and would reach Banaras on Sunday.
