SI suspended for bigamy in UP

A police sub-inspector was suspended over allegations of bigamy on Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district. The SI had been married for over five years and had a child from his second marriage. The cop was suspended following a complaint by his second wife.

Muzaffarnagar: A police sub-inspector (SI) posted at Thana Bhawan in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, was suspended on the allegations of bigamy on Tuesday.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Kumar Pandey, the action was taken against SI Lavik Tyagi after the latter's second wife submitted a complaint in this regard.

The SI had reportedly married her around five years ago and also has a child from his second marriage, Pandey had said.
