Lucknow: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party President Om Prakash Rajbhar held demonstrations over the unabated spurt in fuel prices.
Rajbhar attempted to bring out a bicycle rally from his residence, however, he was stopped by the police. Police had barricaded the street even before Rajbhar left the residence.
Consequently, Rajbhar, along with his party workers, sat on a 'dharna' in front of his residence.
Apart from that, the assembly administration had increased the security at the Vidhan Bhavan.
Rajbhar and his party MLAs accused the state government of injustice to the farmers, as the raised petrol and diesel prices will affect their income share.
Earlier, Rajbhar had announced that he would demonstrate in front of the Vidhan Sabha by riding on a bullock cart.
The plan was later altered as the bullock cart was replaced by bicycles.
