Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh): Some unidentified people stole Remdesivir from the district hospital at Manjhanpur, the district headquarters of Kaushambi district in Uttar Pradesh. The broad-spectrum antiviral medication was kept locked in the storeroom of the hospital.
The incident came to light after the staff found the storeroom door's lock broken and the vials of the broad-spectrum antiviral medication missing from the L-2 ward which had been created for the treatment of corona positive patients in the hospital.

Immediately, the storeroom in charge informed Deepak Seth, the Chief Medical Superintendent of District Hospital about the matter. On having scoured the CCTV footage, it could be seen that the thief had entered the storeroom having broken the lock, and fled from the place with the Remdesivir vials.
A case was filed in the Manjhanpur police station. Police reached the hospital and began investigating the matter, they also checked the CCTV footage.

Earlier, a few months ago, 5 laptops were stolen in the district hospital. In this case, the police recovered the laptop and arrested two staffers of the district hospital.
