Refused money for liquor, Lucknow man slits wrist

After his wife did not give him money to buy him liquor, a man in Lucknow slit his wrist and created ruckus on the streets. He was rescued in the nick of time by two policemen who rushed him to the hospital, where he is currently availing treatment.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): In a bizarre incident, a man created ruckus on the streets by slitting his wrists, reportedly after his wife refused to give him money to buy more liquor in Lucknow Madiyaon area on Thursday.

The man had reportedly lost a lot of blood and was saved in the nick of time by two policemen on duty who brought him under control and rushed him to the hospital.

The man was in an inebriated condition and even assaulted the cops who were trying to rescue him, Madiyaon inspector Vipin Kumar Singh informed.

During questioning, the man identified himself as Manoj, and said that he slit his wrist after his wife refused to give him Rs 200 to buy alcohol, Singh added.

Meanwhile, the injured man is availing treatment at the hospital, and the police have said that they will take necessary action against him.
