Ayodhya: To facilitate donations from other countries for construction of Ram Temple here, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust has asked for permission from the Minister of Home Affairs (MHA), sources said.
They said the trust wrote a letter to the home ministry requesting it to allow people to contribute funds for the construction of the temple under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 2010.
According to the sources, over Rs 70 crores have already been received as donation after Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in 'bhumipujan' on August 5.
Once the permission is granted, Hindus and people living in various parts of the world and wanting to contribute to the temple would be able to send in money for the same.
