In an exclusive conversation with ETV Bharat, Dr Manoj Dikshit, Vice-Chancellor of the varsity said," A new chapter will be added in the history of Ayodhya when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Ram Temple. Many proposed development projects of Central and state governments are likely to get a boost. Year after year, Ayodhya is creating the world record of lighting maximum number of diyas in one go."

"The prestige of this historical holy city is going to be reestablished, and every resident of Ayodhya wants to become a part of this rare occasion in their own way. There is a plan to light three lakh diyas across the holy city. These diyas will be lit on August 3 and 4 in the city’s all-important temples, mutts and other important places," said Dr Dikshit.

"This grand exercise will be carried out with the cooperation of students, public representatives and social workers. Earlier there was a plan to light one lakh and 22 thousand diyas, but now three lakh diyas will be lit across the city," he said.

"The ‘Deepotsav’ programme, held on the eve of Diwali, was initiated in 2017 by Yogi Adityanath when 1.7 lakh diyas were lit on the banks of Saryu river. The event, since then, has become bigger with every passing year and in 2019, the state claimed a record when 5.5 lakh diyas were lit in Ayodhya during ‘Deepotsav’," Dr Dikshit said.

"The volunteers of the varsity have been given the task for special decoration of more than 25 locations of Ayodhya including Ram Janmbhumi premises and Ram ki Paidee. Around 200 students, experts in Artwork are making Rangoli and Deep mala, a series of earthen lamps at these locations," Dr Dikshit added.

"Ayodhya will meet all parameters to be developed as a tourist hub. Spiritually and historically rich Ayodhya will fulfil all criteria so that a grand temple is made. The city is set to get over a dozen of big hotels, guest houses, international bus terminus, which will enable Ayodhya to become a global tourist hub," he further added.
