Bijnor(Uttar Pradesh): In Dhampur area of Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, a truck overloaded with sugarcane reportedly turned over on road leaving 3 severely injured and one dead.
The injured were immediately rushed to the hospitals. According to the sources the overloaded truck was heading towards Dhampur sugar mill. Due to its heavy load, the driver couldn't control the speed and the truck turned over, a rickshaw puller and a person on the bike were injured, soon after the locals came to rescue.

According to surveys by the Indian Foundation of Transport Research and Training, one in every three trucks in the country is overloaded and they are to be blamed for 50 per cent of road accidents. It is to be noted that frequent overloading reduces the productive life of the truck and the road.
