Sonbhadra: The police shot a man on the Varanasi-Shaktinagar road in the Karma Police station area on the basis of a mere doubt.
The police on Sunday tried to stop a biker on the road. But he did not stop. As a result, the police shot him on the arm.
The man was admitted to the district hospital after the incident. After primary medication, the man was sent to Varanasi Trauma Center.
Questions are being raised by people upon the modus operandi of the police.
According to witnesses, "the man was running away because of not having a license. But the police failed to differentiate between a criminal and a common man and shot him."
Police officer Salman Taj Patil said, "Pradeep Rai and Gulshan, along with Constable Mahendra Pratap Singh were on patrolling while the whole incident happened."
