Noida (Uttar Pradesh): Luksar jail in Noida has come up with an innovative idea for rehabilitation and reformation of its inmates. The jail authorities have launched an internal Radio Station Public Address System.
It was inaugurated by two senior-most prisoners of the jail.
It has been learnt that spiritual songs will be played in the morning as well as evening whereas entertainment songs will be played every day in the afternoon for two hours.
During these two hours, the jail prisoners will also be given opportunities to showcase their talents as they can also present songs, poems, speeches and other entertainment programmes.
Superintendent of Luksar Jail, Vipin Kumar Mishra said that it is an attempt to create a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere in the prison.
"No one is born criminals so this initiative has been taken to divert prisoners' minds from negativity and help them choose a positive path. It will also help the prisoners to fight the depression," said Mishra.
He further said that CCTV cameras have also been installed in the control room to check unwanted activities and to have proper surveillance on prisoners.
